Newfoundland 2010
The Book
(3/29/2011)

In the last few years I've had many books printed at Blurb.com; you can click here to buy copies of this one. You have three options for covers when buying books from Blurb, hard cover (with dust jacket), hard cover with image wrap (your images are printed right on the cover), and soft cover (with images).

Originally they didn't have the image wrap option, but I now always choose it along with the premium paper option. Since we now choose image wrap, I've given up putting content on the inside flaps of the dust jacket, but suppose I still should in case someone orders that option.

Images showing the page spreads from this book follow. As you can see, for our travel books we now include June's written description of our trip as well as the images. It takes some effort to try and keep the text and the images somewhat in sync, but having the story along with the images is worth it.

Blurb puts their logo on the last page of the book unless you pay extra ...
I think they do a good job so this little ad doesn't bother me.

It takes longer to create custom page layouts than to just pour images into
holes on pre-designed pages, but it's a lot more fun. You can be more creative.

(I just noticed, based on the numbering of the links to the books, that back in
January 2008 Blurb had printed 171,000 books. Now they've printed 2,054,000.)
